Getting to

Hermosa

Hermosa Cove finds its home in lovely Ocho Rios, Jamaica – a city on the north coast. If you just need direction, click on the map button below; however, if you’re arriving internationally, we would encourage reading our guide to getting here.

Frequently Asked

Questions

If you have a question, it’s quite possible that you’re not the first person that’s asked. Below are some questions that guests regularly ask us. And of course, if you can’t find an answer to your question or need some more clarification – our friendly staff is just a phone call or email away.

Packages and Prices

Well that really depends on the villa …

… different guests have different needs, tastes, and budgets; therefore, we’ve crafted various villas for all of these people. They can be categorized as:

  • One Story, One Bedroom Villas – perfect for a less expensive getaway for two.
  • Two Story, One Bedroom Villas – a moderate expense for a couple looking for a more romantic, posh stay.
  • Two Story, Three Bedroom Villas – a more expensive stay for families or groups of people.
  • Boutique Villas – our highest price option for people looking for unique stays with Jamaican flair.

All of our villas can be found individually here on our website and a summary of prices can be found here on our Packages and Prices page.

All prices are in United States Dollars …

… which might seem strange since we’re in Jamaica – but USD is an international standard that most people recognize and can compare to their own currency. So for the benefit of our guests, and to align ourselves with the rest of the Jamaican hospitality industry, we use USD as our standard currency.

absolutely we do! …

… We pride ourselves in allowing you to “stay your way”, that each guests and group’s needs are as unique as the people themselves. With that said, we recognize that sometimes it’s easier to envision your stay if we give you an idea of what you can do while at Hermosa and while in Jamaica. For this reason, we have various packages that are designed to appeal to the different types of people that frequent Hermosa Cove – all of which can be found here – and all of which can be adjusted to fit your needs and dreams.

We are not an all inclusive resort …

… however we do have an all inclusive option – our “One Love, One Price” package. Honestly, we find that most all-inclusive resorts limit your culinary and excursion options and lower the quality of amenities offered. That’s not us. We want to help craft an experience that is perfectly catered for you. But if “not having to think about money” is your perfect experience – we can do that!

Planning and Expectations

We love families and we love children …

… in fact, we have an entire option we call the “Fun For the Whole Family” package. If you’re reading this question, you’re likely already cognizant of your children, their behavior, and how their actions might affect the people surrounding you (or maybe you’re worried about the presence of other people’s children).

We have articulated our expectations for families and children of various ages in our reservation policy – specifically the section on Peace+Love+Respect, if you’re concerned we would encourage you to read it through so that you know the resort’s expectations.

We adore family pets …

… however we need to honor and respect the other guests on property. For this reason we have a soft “no pets” policy.

We can make accommodations for service animals and for carefully arranged situations coordinated with our office staff ahead of time. A possible example of such an agreement would be …

  • A minimum reservation of 5 nights
Guests much book Sea Biscuit Villa because of its privacy in proximity to other villas
  • Pay an added fee of 5% of your room nights
Pay a refundable damage deposit of US$500.00
  • Your pet must stay within the villa premises, not allowed at the restaurant or other public areas

An arrangement such as this would protect the quality of Hermosa Cove’s property, respect the wishes of other guests without having to explicitly ask, and allow you to take a member of your family on vacation.

Jamaica is Hot and Laid Back …

… and most of our guests dress accordingly. We aren’t the kind of resort where you’ll find suits and ball gowns – during the day our guests tend to dress for the beach, for swimming, for laying out in the sun. At night, some guests dress in business casual apparel and others like to get fancy. Whatever makes you feel fantastic.

You can read more about expected restaurant apparel in our Peace+Love+Respect section of our reservation policy.

With all that said, we do want to remind you that there are other guests on property, some of whom have young families – so while we want you to be comfortable, we ask that you lean toward modesty in attire and appropriate content on clothing.

You should bring whatever will promise a quality experience …

… but we do have a some items you can use. Kids, for example, love playing with our modest selection of sand toys. We have plenty of life jackets of various sizes, goggles, snorkels, and flippers in stock to be used with our water sports staff. For those of you who enjoy swimming in the ocean, we would encourage you to bring water shoes to protect your feet from the coral. And of course we have plenty of chairs, daybeds, and umbrellas for seating.

Of course, absolutely …

… all of our menus can be found at ChristophersJamaica.com or on our Restaurant page. Here you’ll find our Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner menus as well as our Dessert menu, Beverage options, and Wine list.

The online menus should be accurate to your experience on property; however, sometimes we need to change due to seasonal availability of specific dishes, or perhaps we’re running a special. Or, if you’re here for one of our weekly Broken Rudder Barbecue nights – we have a special, uniquely Jamaica, outdoor eating experience for our guests and a menu, special for that week.

Questions for Non-Guests

Most certainly …

… our restaurant staff loves serving our local residents or guests from other resorts. We will need you to call ahead to make a reservation; that way our security personnel will know you’re coming. This also ensures that you’re not coming on a night of an event or a fully booked resort.

Yes, we can accommodate that …

… our property is beautiful, so we’ve invited guests in for various reasons. If our resort isn’t booked, we even offer a Day Pass which allows you to utilize our pools and beaches for the day. This can be arranged by contacting our front offices.Â
